I've been waiting to make this
bag since I saw it. I ordered the pattern, got the material and waited for my mother-in-law. Well my mother-in-law hasn't show up yet and the summer is almost gone. So I decided to give it a try myself. Remember this is only my second time trying this sewing thing. When I got the pattern I realized I need more stuff. Another trip to JoAnn's and I was set. The pattern said Easy. Well it was pretty easy. Just very time consuming for a first timer. This time I didn't give up. My machine acted up a bit but I figured it out. Although I am considering a new one. Here are a few pictures of my day long adventure. Yes a whole day! I started at noon and ended at two a.m.. I know I should of stopped when I was getting tired but I just wanted to get it done. At the end I was messing up alot and you can tell. Next time I know better. Oh and during those hours I was still mom. Had to feed kids, attended to kids, give snacks, pick up the teenager at the airport, and get dinner on the table. Maybe it wouldn't of been that long without all the distractions. I'm gonna try to make another bag to see how long it will take once the HMIC is home.
That's all my mess getting started. Pattern pieces cut and ready to go.

At this point I was feeling a little confident. I kept telling myself "you can do this".

Most of the purse is complete.

And there you have it my new purse. I DID IT!!

Now the mess to clean up.

Hey no one said what kind of dinner I had to put on the table. Not bad for my second project. What do you think? Now I have something to carry around that shows my support for the HMIC(oh how sweet! LOL).
