My Secret
Painting Project
Here you go the armoire is painted and done. The knobs that's a different story. I haven't found any till then I will just use the ones that were on. It took me two days of sanding, painting, painting, sanding and staining. With a whole lot of neighbors stopping by to see what I was up to. Some probably thought I had lost it and had to come make sure I was still sane. They weren't understanding why I had sanded it then painted it brown then painted it blue then sanded it again. After I explain they would say we were wondering what you were up to. Now the only thing left to do is put the room back together and clean it up. To bad I'm not rich and have a housekeeper. Maybe I can win the lottery someday. The inside of the armoire is the Little Diva's changing area. She shares the room with us. Since her brothers can't be in the same room without someone getting hurt. Maybe one day she can have her own room. I know I can't wait to decorate a room for a girl. Sorry about the bad pictures they were taken at night and I'm no good at taking pictures.
*Speaking of the lottery let me tell you a quick story. The HMIC always used to play the same numbers every time we would go to Texas. Well one Saturday he bought some lottery tickets. Later that night he tells me "I have to tell you something but I don't know how to tell you". I told him just tell me. Then he starts with "you know I always play the same numbers but this time I changed them and guess what numbers came out". Yup you guessed it THE NUMBERS HE ALWAYS PLAYED. Let's just say I was a little upset and he hasn't played the lottery since. So I guess I wasn't meant to be rich or have a housekeeper.

Dinner Off
I was reading this post the other day. It reminded me of my backup. When they were here it was wonderful not cooking or having to think about it. Somedays are more overwhelming than others. Having a night off from cooking would be Nice. Why am I lying it would be Great to not have to think about dinner. Wonderful to not have yet another thing to do. Especially when you are exhausted and have been for months. When all you think about is sleep. When all you pray for is patience. When all you want is a moment. When all you need is an extra set of hands. Having the night off from someone who gets it. From someone who is going through it. My son has two friends whose fathers are deployed as well. I'm sure this will make their mothers feel like they are not alone and someone gets it. Believe me I know their mothers will feel overwhelmed at times. So I'm going to be nice and remember what that feels like. Actually I don't need to remember I'm still feeling it. I'm going to make them dinner and give them the night off. Now let me think of what to make that will taste decent. (I never said I was a good cook.)

Yumm
These were so easy and yummy! So far all the recipes I've tried from Meg have been a hit. My kids liked this one so much we've made it twice in the past two weeks. Another thing I loved about this recipe was I made some for dinner with the sauce and small ones with no sauce. We used the smaller ones to make meatball sandwiches another night for dinner. Don't you love those kind of recipes? Two meals in one. This is definitely a keeper in my books. It will be added to our recipe book. (I'm putting together a book with easy meals for my kids to take when they leave home. I don't want them starving. This way they can just go to their book and come up with easy ideas.)
Give them a try!!

Ready or Not
Today is the first day of school! (YEAH) Ready or Not the boys are on there way. Now I have about two hours to myself before the littles(my nickname for the two smaller ones) wake up. I'm going to take advantage of my time and go work on my project. Hopefully I can finish today and show you tomorrow. (Oh happy days)

Practice Run
Yesterday was suppose to be our first test run for school. Well the sheets were stuck on us and it was a no go. Today was our second attempt. We didn't get up at 6 but we did manage to get up by 7:30. Thanks to some help from the HMIC. If it wasn't for him I would of probably stayed in bed. So I got up and got the boys up. Some had a harder time than others.
This is at 10 and the teenager can't manage to keep his eyes open. Maybe tomorrow we will have a better run. As for myself I'm actually dressed and ready to head out for some last minute school supplies. Can't wait for school to start. Now the lyrics in my head are "I'm so excited, I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it".

Frame It
The Nester said to frame it, so I did. Bought the frames for two dollars at the swapmeet. Wasn't sure what I was going to frame. All I knew was that the Nester said to frame it. Later I went to Ross and picked up the plates for two a piece. I was going to use the plates for something else. Then I put two and two together and there you have it.
Here's a sneak peak at what I will be doing this week.

Proven Fact
We all know men only have a one track mind. The Little Diva has proven that women are born multi-taskers. That's why we are so good at it!
Here she is proving that girls are born multi-taskers. She's blogging and text at the same time. She's so talented. If she only knew how much multi-tasking she will done in her lifetime.

Sewing Take Two
I've been waiting to make this bag since I saw it. I ordered the pattern, got the material and waited for my mother-in-law. Well my mother-in-law hasn't show up yet and the summer is almost gone. So I decided to give it a try myself. Remember this is only my second time trying this sewing thing. When I got the pattern I realized I need more stuff. Another trip to JoAnn's and I was set. The pattern said Easy. Well it was pretty easy. Just very time consuming for a first timer. This time I didn't give up. My machine acted up a bit but I figured it out. Although I am considering a new one. Here are a few pictures of my day long adventure. Yes a whole day! I started at noon and ended at two a.m.. I know I should of stopped when I was getting tired but I just wanted to get it done. At the end I was messing up alot and you can tell. Next time I know better. Oh and during those hours I was still mom. Had to feed kids, attended to kids, give snacks, pick up the teenager at the airport, and get dinner on the table. Maybe it wouldn't of been that long without all the distractions. I'm gonna try to make another bag to see how long it will take once the HMIC is home.

Now the mess to clean up.

That's all my mess getting started. Pattern pieces cut and ready to go.
At this point I was feeling a little confident. I kept telling myself "you can do this".
Most of the purse is complete.
And there you have it my new purse. I DID IT!!
Now the mess to clean up.
Hey no one said what kind of dinner I had to put on the table. Not bad for my second project. What do you think? Now I have something to carry around that shows my support for the HMIC(oh how sweet! LOL).

Tooth
It all started with me trying to do the right thing. Flossing can be dangerous to your health. That's right! I was flossing before bed on Sunday night and I lost a filling. At the same time my wisdom tooth was acting up. Went to the dentist Monday only to be told I needed a crown. Was in a lot of pain from my wisdom tooth. Was told my appointment was only for the lost filling had to make another appointment. Made the appointment to have the filling, prep work for the crown and wisdom tooth looked at. Was told at the appointment I had an infection because of my wisdom tooth. Duh did I not tell you Monday I was in pain. Gave me antibiotics have to wait to get my filling put in. The next day got my wisdom tooth pulled. Spent that day with a hurting sore mouth. Will go back next week to see what's next. Bad thing is I have a wisdom tooth on the other side that will probably get pulled later. Like when the HMIC is home. Not alot of fun having your tooth pulled, realizing you have no formula, having to make a trip to the store, and being the only parent to pick up kid from practice. Then still expected to be MOM when all you really want to do is sleep the day away. So I'm still here just hasn't been a good week.

Paracord Bracelet or Lanyard
This is a great way to keep the older kids entertained. My pre-teen was busy for hours and days. Gave him the idea to make some stuff for Christmas gifts. That was more for my sanity. Examples keychains or a dog leash(this took almost a day). You can get the 550 cord in different colors. If you don't want to go out just order it online. Here he is hard at work.

This is an example of one the HMIC sent them last time. Since then their wrist have grown. They remade them to fit.
