Deployment

Here we go again another deployment has started. Hopefully everyone will do good and the kids can manage it better this time. We will wait and see. This weekend was chaotic and it went by so fast. We had a get together for the HMIC. It was nice to have all our friends together for a last time before he deployed. On Sunday the HMIC spent the whole day packing. Of course it's so like him to wait till the last minute. I secretly think he was hoping something would come up and he wouldn't have to go. As he was packing little big boy wanted to see if he could go too. He did fit but I think I'll keep him here.

The whole day I had mixed emotions. I'm not new to this rodeo so I know what to expect. So I did what every wife who's been here before does. We put on that brave face and say everything will be fine. Making sure not to show anything else. Don't want to make anyone worry about anything. The HMIC needs to know everything is good while he is away. The kids need to know that mom is not worried, so they don't have to be either. Sure we have our weak moments but we have them in private. When no one is around and only for a few seconds. Then we pull ourselves together and continue what we were doing.

Monday was the day the HMIC deployed. He was still trying to do things till the last minute. So here is what we saw.

Bags ready to go. With all their belongings for there time away.

Loading there bags.

Saying good-bye.

Walking to the bus. Which will take them to go wait for their plane.

The bus is ready to go.

The Pre-Teen trying to be strong and hold it together.

Then they were gone just like that. So now our journey beings!!!
