hot as hell

my car's A/C went out in this hot a** weather. it didn't do it in the 80s or 90s but in the 100s. i was pissed, hot and cranky. all I wanted to do was go to the nearest dealer and trade it in for anything with A/C. to top it all off the day it went out the HMIC had just left that morning. talk about luck...if it wasn't for bad luck i'd have no luck at all. of course I wanted to take it out on the HMIC:

1. because he left that day
2. because he's not here
3. because everything that goes wrong is automatically his fault

but i didn't. i should get wife of the year for that. luckily it's on it's way to get fixed. my brother was taking my mom and a friend to san antonio to the doctor and they decided to take my car. thanks to my warranty it had to go to the dealer. being that i live in smalltown tx the dealer i needed isn't in this town. So nearest city it was.

looks like i owe them some nice cold beers. hopefully they're make up and hair isn't to bad. ;)



talk about it being hot. here's some random pics i took. it was 96 at night. poor littles they were hot with red cheeks after a ride in the car. i bought them ice cream to cool off but it melted and fast.

tweaking

the littles room got a little tweaking. the yellow dresser and chest had to go. they looked really cute but they smelled. i guess the old man who owned them was a smoker. it didn't matter what i tried i couldn't get the smell out. one smelled more than the other but at the end they both had to go. Hector has asthma so no smelly furniture in here. the old dresser made a come back.

at first i wasn't to sure about painting Hector's bed white. i was just going to buy a white one but i'm glad i tried it. the bed turned out good and now i won't be buying a bed anytime soon. i added a little more to the bedding and added more color. the other way was good but it didn't feel kiddish. i like this look alot more.

the shelf i bought at an antique store in a neighboring town. i got alot of slack for it but i love it. i had no room for it that day. so i put it on layway and sent my brother-in-law for it later. it was meant for my room but i needed to fill the space. yes, i folded and added a tv to the room. the shelf holds the tv, game system, dolls, bows and stuff.

i brought my chair in for a place to sit. now they have a place to sit while watching tv or playing games. the tv is not in a convenient location but i didn't want the room to revolve around it. the yellow canvas i had from another project i never started and spray painted it.

on the kids walls i changed out there decor some. the yellow letters i picked up at an antique/thrift store, painted out the stars and added a print. on Hector's wall i kept his print. it was given to me by our old mailman now friend when he was born. it reminds me of California and the beach.

there you have it a little tweaking, a little color and a room that feels cozier.

  the HMIC is here visiting for two weeks. long enough to not get anything done but long enough to make a mess. so let me keep it real and give you a glimpse into my home. there hasn't been a room he hasn't touched or project thats been completed. so for now the house will stay chaotic till his visit is over. then it'll take me a week or so to put it back in order. enjoy the chaos i call home.

oh what's that i hear a weed eater and a strange man in my yard. that's right people one husband, two teenagers and i still need to hire someone to do the yard. what's wrong with that picture?

still alive

it's been over 5 months now and i'm making an appearance. if i said i've been busy that would be an understatement. the HMIC ask me why i wasn't blogging anymore. the truth is i don't even have time to pay attention. the HMIC still hasn't retired like we thought. it's just the kids and i. luckly they have summer vacation now and maybe things can slow down alittle. if you remember i got a job and i'm still working but trying to manage it all has been a challenge.  hopefully i can find a few extra hours in my day and get on some schedule. till then things are chaotic. i've made a few changes to the house nothing big but small changes. i now officially have three kids in school. one is barely starting out and the other two in high school. when did that happen? time sure does go by fast. i think every year goes by faster than the previous one. i also turned 36, i'm still having issues with being closer to 40 now instead of 30. i'm working on them by avoiding the mirror so i don't see my new wrinkles. so maybe i can start back up. this way the HMIC can feel connect and see pictures. i'm gonna aim for twice a week, it's a start.
