Remember I had mentioned my two seconds of fame awhile back. Well here it is. If you go and look closely you'll see me picking out fabric and my back. For a whole two seconds I was on TV. There's this cute little store here that sells nice fabrics. Their selection is different from Joann's and Wally World {aka..Wal-Mart}. They also give lessons there. My friend Kelly wanted to take a class but it's a two person minimum. When she first asked I wasn't sure if I wanted to go. It's bad enough messing up here at home but in front of someone else {yikes}. Being that Kelly was moving to Florida and my sewing buddy would be leaving I went ahead. {Now I'm gonna cry cause I miss my friend}
Here we are:
When we walked inside we noticed the cameras. We ran to the back and hid out until they were done. We didn't want to be on camera. We went there to take a sewing class. Good thing I had gotten up early to take a shower and get dressed. Normally if I don't get up extra early my shower doesn't happen till noon. When they heard we were there for a class they wanted to film a little of it. Good thing the only pieces that made it was us picking out fabric and my back while I was cutting my fabric. But in all we had a good time and learned how to sew a zipper. If any of you live in the So Cal area you should stop by there. The girls at Maisonnette are super friendly and nice.
Here's my clutch:
I think it came out super cute and pretty easy. Now I'm a sewing clutch queen.

My Room Take Two
My room received a face lift. The black cabinet was only taking up space, collecting crap, and not very useful. I needed more work space. The HMIC got in there and tweaked it. We bought some legs and a new chair at Ikea. I had never been to Ikea and I loved it there. There's sooo many great ideas there. We bought some mdf at Home Depot. Now I have more workable space and a better layout. Still wish the closet room was bigger but I have to work with what I have. If your wondering how big my room is it's about 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 give and take a few inches. {I know HUGE right}
It just took a couple of hours and I had a new layout. The new layout gives me a cutting area. Now I don't have to cut out on the kitchen table then go sew. Or I can start things then leave them out to finish another day. I even have a slide out drawer to store stuff. At Home Depot I found some pink round vinyl things that I use to put notes or pending project reminders.
The sewing machine is at the end of the table.

There's even room for my laptop. I wish it would stay there but I replaced the laptop with the my older sewing machine.
Wish I had better pics but I had to use my phone. You should see the room right now it looks like a tornado went thru it.

aagghhh
That was most of my day today. You know those days. The ones where you wake up and your already in a bad mood. The ones where you just want to stay in bed and be left alone. The only problem is you can't and you have to start your day. I spent most of mine yelling at everyone and everything. Who knows where my head was most of the day. During the day I noticed I had put the Little Diva's pants on backwards. Then I spent 20 minutes looking for my phone. Just to realize I was looking for the phone I was on.Yeah I couldn't believe it either. Well I'm happy to say I survived and glad for this day to be over. Now if only that cleaning fairy would come clean up and do the dishes.
Looks like I need a little more practice on one of my goals... :)

Goals for 2011
Every year I say my resolution is to lose weight. Well that never happens! This year I'm going to make goals for myself and family. Hopefully I can accomplish at least half of them and I'll be happy with that. There's no pressure this way.
Home Goals:
1. Sew slipcovers for the chairs in the living room.
2. Try to introduce a lighter color in the living room (a blue).
3. Change out the drapes/curtains in the living/dining/kitchen.
4. Maybe just maybe sew WHITE slipcovers for the sofas.
5. Put up hooks in living/kids/bathroom(s).
6. Rug in the little big boys room.
7. Window treatment for the little big boys room.
8. Different curtain rod in the teenagers room (the one in there is wimpy).
9. Decorate the pre-teens room (his room has nothing going on).
10. Make a picture wall.
Family Goals:
1. Plant a family garden.
2. Make sure we have movie night (if not weekly then every other week).
3. Spend more quality time with the kids (my days of staying home are coming to an end ).
4. Have more patience and love for my family.
Personal Goals:
1. Become more active (try to make it my normal).
2. Sew more (this is for my state of mind).
3. Complete the Love Dare.
4. Go to church regularly.
5. Be more friendly/outgoing.
6.Try not to be so obsessed with the cleanliness of my home and focus on the littles being littles.
7. Decide what I want to be when I grow up (more on this later).
8. Get dressed 6 out of 7 days a week (been known to stay in pj's more days than I should).
9. Make a routine and stick to it!!!
10. Work on blog.
Financial Goals:
1. Pay off some debt.
2. Cut up and don't use credit cards (easy for me not so easy for the HMIC).
3. Pay the truck off in a year.
4. Buy house???
Well there you have it! THANKS to the Nester I now have goals for this year. I better get going and get out of my pj's NOW.

End of the Year wrap up!
Wow it's almost been a month! Time sure does fly by. This month has been a busy month for me.
My in-laws were here for two weeks. Decided to make homemade gifts this year. Helped a friend go through some break up drama which involved him sleeping on my couch. I took a sewing class and was on the news (my whole two seconds of fame). Had a yard sale with my friend. My neighbor/friend moved to Florida. Decided last minute to go to Texas for the holidays. The Little Diva turned 1. ALL the kids and the HMIC got sick. Still trying to unpack from the trip. Then on top of all of this I'm trying to come to terms with the fact that the HMIC will be retiring in a year and a half (aaahhhhhh). I'm going to try to catch you all up on all of this one thing at a time.
Hope ya'll had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's.
